The Christian Right is Neither*

A two-fer today of "Christian Right" headslappity goodness:

First, BoingBoing posted a now-vanished link to the Creation Museum, whose website has an image that I'm choosing to interpret as the perfect illustration the flaw with Creationism. (Check out the middle of the path from Creation to Consummation). The mission statement of the museum seems to be heavily weighte to "here's how to argue with those holier-than-thou science nerds when they dare question your unblinking devotion to a nonsensical world view."

Speaking of nonsensical Christian views, Jeb Bush is at it again:
Florida ends fight against abortion for 13-yr-old

Florida dropped its fight on Tuesday to prevent a 13-year-old girl in state care from having an abortion in a case that marked the state's second recent foray into controversial personal rights issues.

Weeks after it unsuccessfully tried to intervene in the bitter dispute over the fate of a brain-damaged woman, Terri Schiavo, the state's Department of Children & Families said it would not appeal a ruling from a Palm Beach state court allowing the teenager to have an abortion....

The Department of Children & Families, her legal guardian after her parents' rights were terminated, petitioned the courts to block an abortion, arguing she was not mature enough to make such a choice.

The implication being, MOTHERHOOD is easier for a 13 year old to deal with than the thought of an invasive procedure.

Boy, the idea of Republicans outbreeding Democrats certainly explains itself here - is it possible all these right-to-life protests are a way for the Right to stack the deck? Republicanism - not just for the dead anymore! Wanna bet Terri Schiavo cast a vote for Bush/Cheney in 2004?
